The following PRIVACY POLICY is subject to change at any time and at the sole discretion of the Site owner and operator. Please visit the site regularly for updates.

Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to The Hungry Heart. We know that you care about the information you provide to us, and how it is used. We appreciate that you trust us to use this information carefully. This privacy policy explains our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. This policy may change from time to time, so please check back periodically. Any changes or updates will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. By visiting and using our site, you are accepting the practices in this privacy notice, including all such changes and updates that have been made as of that date.

The Information We Collect

We collect and store information you submit on The Hungry Heart’s website and information we receive through our other interactions with you. There are three types of information collected: (a) personally identifiable information that you supply, (b) automatically colle

cted information, and (c) e-mail and posted messages.

a . Personally Identifiable Information That You Supply

Through The Hungry Heart’s website, you can order products, register for programs and services, submit forms, make requests to receive materials, participate in online programs, fill out questionnaires, and communicate with a Hungry Heart counselor. The personal information collected on these pages may include a variety of information including your name, contact details, and credit card information.

b . Automatically Collected Information

There are certain types of information we receive and store whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use “cookies,” and we obtain certain information when your web browser accesses hungryheart.org. These cookies do not contain any personal data, but they do contain codes which help us identify you in our database. You have the option of disabling your browser’s use of cookies, but if you do so, you will be unable to access certain features of Hungry Heart’s site. We may also collect information related to your IP address, the referring site and search engine keyword which helped you find the Hungry Heart, and the pages you visited on our site.

c . E-mails

Email communication between you and a counselor or any part of our staff to receive information regarding the Hungry Heart program or services may be maintained for providing personal services for you and gaining knowledge of services clients would like to participate in or need additional assistance.

We do not currently accept communications from our website from children under the age of 13 without the consent of their parent or legal guardian. We do not allow children under 13 to open an account or to receive direct marketing communications arising from their use of our website and, therefore, we do not provide any personally identifiable information from children under 13 to any third party.

How We Use Information
Information about our clients or former clients will only be disclosed as permitted or required by law. We reserve the right to contact clients regarding account status and changes to the policies or agreements relevant to clients and other users of our website. Without limiting any of the foregoing, our uses of information about you include the following:

    • We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order.
    • We use the information you provide about someone else when placing an order only to ship the product and to confirm delivery. We do not share this information with outside parties except to complete that order.
    • We use the information you provide about someone else when placing an order only to ship the product and to confirm delivery. We do not share this information with outside parties except to complete that order.
    • We use return email addresses and phone numbers to answer the messages we receive. These email addresses and phone numbers may also be stored so that we can contact you later.
    • You can register with our website if you would like to receive our newsletters, as well as updates about our products and services, and special promotional offers. Unless you indicate otherwise, you may be automatically subscribed to our newsletter mailings when you first place an order with us. You may opt out of newsletter and promotional mailings at any time.
    • We use the health, and activity information you supply to guide the programs you enroll in. Our counselors may review the information, discuss it with you, and recommend specific courses of action in person, by phone or e-mail.
    • We use non-identifying and aggregate information to monitor the effectiveness of our programs, and to let our customers know how we’re doing. For example, we may publish the average weight lost in a 10-week program for a specific population of our program participants, without disclosing anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
  • We reserve the right to use and release account and other personal information when we believe it is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our terms of use and other applicable agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of the Hungry Heart, our clients, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction but does not include disclosing clients’ personally identifiable information for commercial purposes in violation of this privacy policy.

Finally, we never use or share with unaffiliated third parties the personally identifiable information provided to us in ways unrelated to those described above, without providing you an opportunity to opt out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment To Data Security
To restrict unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Because some information you supply to us is stored in cookies in your computer, and also because e-mail messages you receive may be kept in a file on your computer, it is important that you protect against unauthorized access to your password and your computer. Whenever you use a shared computer, you should always log into your own account before entering personal information into any website, and be sure to log off when you are finished. If you are concerned about sensitive information that may be stored in cookies, you can use your browser to clear all cookies immediately after you finish your session on our website, and you can print, then delete, e-mail messages that contain confidential information. The Hungry Heart cannot protect against access to any information stored on the hard disk of the computer you use

Although we will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of the personal information concerning clients and other users of our website, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. We will have no liability for disclosure of such information due to errors in transmission, unauthorized acts of third parties or through the use of third party cookies including those of advertisers when you view or click on their advertisements. Once you leave our website, you will be subject to third party privacy policies, which may differ significantly from this privacy policy.

As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy locations, subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, client information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in the applicable pre-existing privacy policy (unless, of course, the client consents otherwise). Also, in the unlikely event that the Hungry Heart or substantially all of its assets are acquired, client information will of course be one of the transferred assets.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

You can view and change much of the personally identifiable information that we have collected about you through the support login. You can also ask your counselor to assist you with any changes to your personal identifiable information.

To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

“I am doing much better now! I have identified some trigger foods that caused me to binge. I have not binged in 8 weeks! I am feeling in control of my eating and no longer turn to food for dealing with my problems. I am so thankful I found you guys!”
